Romance in the Capital

This is a demo project for rpgmaker.net's "A New Start" event, with the theme of new beginnings. Hoping to have it done by April at the latest!

Story - 

After years of training and saving up money, a young witch and her familiar are finally ready to leave their rural town and start anew in the illustrious Capital city. Of course, it's not just her. Her best friends, Finn and Adelle, have come along too! 

Play through seven days (only three, in this demo) of your new life as an adventurer for hire in the Capital, taking odd jobs with your two friends. Explore the bountiful nature outside the capital city, battle monsters, and bond with your friends while you find a place to settle in. Along the way, you'll need to figure out if you're really just friends, or if one of your longtime companions might feel a bit more strongly about you...?

Characters -

Tessa - 

A witch bursting with optimism who rushes into things too fast. She's been friends with Finn and Adelle for as long as she can remember. She's also harbored feelings for the both of them for a long time. Does she feel more strongly about one, or the other...? Only time will tell.

Finn - 

A fun-loving guy with a lighthearted demeanor. He's reliable and sticks by his friends. He doesn't say it out loud much, but he's often worrying about them, too.

Adelle - 

A stern woman with a sharp tongue. She's always scolding Tessa, but usually for good reason. Keeps the group organized and focused. Out of the three, she was the one who wanted to leave home the most. 

Featuring -

- A simple but satisfying turn based battle system! Choose which skills you want to take into battle, from both active and passive skills. Take advantage of status ailments, buffs, debuffs, or just blast your foes away with powerful spells! It's up to you!

- Take on various missions, some with the full party of four, and some with only three. Will you take on jobs with Finn, the reliable protector, or Adelle, the aggressive powerhouse? 

- Explore maps that I frankly spent way too much time on for a three-week event, making good use of RTP assets and edits! Jump across gaps to find treasure, and choose whether to fight enemies head on or maneuver around them in on-screen encounters.

- Talk with Finn and Adelle at the end of your daily missions to learn more about them! Choose your words carefully, as they may affect how your friends feel about you.
